Arrive in Lhasa, transfer to hotel for rest

Take a flight or train to arrive in Lhasa, the holy city. The driver will welcome you outside the airport or train station and present you with the purest white khata of the plateau to welcome your arrival, then transfer you to your pre-booked hotel to check in and rest. Warm Tips 1. When you first arrive in Lhasa, do everything slowly, keep a relaxed mindset, and don't get too excited. A good mindset is the best way to prevent and overcome altitude sickness. 2. Lhasa–Basum Lake–Lulang

This morning, you will depart from Lhasa and travel via the beautiful Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway to the low-altitude Nyingchi region. After arriving in Nyingchi, you will first visit Basum Lake Scenic Area, known as Tibet's "Little Switzerland." Basum Lake is a sacred lake of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Its pure, emerald-green waters look especially enchanting against the blue sky and white clouds. Walk across the floating bridge, step onto the island in the middle of the lake, and come to the viewing platform. Leaning on the railing in the breeze and enjoying the panoramic view from above is enough to enchant you. The ancient Cuogao Temple on the island is the main sight to visit. Built in the 13th century AD, it is a famous monastery of the Nyingma school. (About 120 minutes) After visiting Basum Lake, you will head toward Lulang International Town. Along the way, you will cross the 4,728-meter-high Sejila Pass. Sejila Pass is located southeast of Bayi Town and is a famous landmark on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. Here you can gaze into the distance at the Lulang Forest Sea and Mount Namcha Barwa behind it, making it a great spot for photos. If you travel in May or June, you can also see azaleas blooming all over the slopes of Sejila Mountain. (About 30 minutes) Finally, you will arrive in Lulang. For dinner, taste Lulang's specialty stone-pot chicken. It is made with hand-shaped ginseng and free-range chicken, slowly stewed in a specially made stone pot. The flavor is very unique, the soup has a faint herbal fragrance, and the chicken is tender yet springy, rich in 17 mineral trace elements such as magnesium and iron.

Lulang–Midui Glacier–Half-loop Rawu Lake–Rawu Lake

This morning you will stroll through Lunang Town and feel the holiness and tranquility of the "Switzerland of the East." Then drive to Bomi. Along the way you will pass the [Tongmai Bridge], originally the most perilous Tongmai natural barrier on National Highway 318, and very worth seeing. (About 30 minutes) Afterward, you will pass Armor Mountain. [Armor Mountain], originally named Alitsori, is also called "Songduobare Sacred Mountain" and "Nianbochare Sacred Mountain." Legend says they are a couple, and the surrounding snow mountains are all their children. The part of Armor Mountain near the summit is entirely composed of slate rock layers, with long and distinct lines. Through weathering, many long terraces have formed. Every year in April and May, after part of the snow on the slate cliffs melts, seen from afar it presents patterns like those on the armor worn by ancient soldiers, hence the name Armor Mountain. (About 10 minutes) In the afternoon, visit Midui Glacier. [Midui Glacier] is the lowest-altitude glacier in the world. The entire glacier is as pure as jade, with beautiful scenery, various forms, and charming postures. Around it are herds of cattle and sheep, quaint Tibetan-style houses, majestic snow mountains, and wild animals such as rock-climbing sheep and monkeys that stay year-round. (About 180 minutes) After visiting Midui Glacier, you will go to the Ranwu Lake scenic area and take a half-loop tour of Ranwu Lake. [Ranwu Lake]'s azure water and snow-capped peaks form a picturesque and beautiful scene. Depending on the season, the water of Ranwu Lake also presents several colors, such as azure or turquoise. Many rocks and small islands dot the lake channel. On the lake surface, tree shadows dance in spring, while thin mist spreads in autumn and winter. The beautiful scenery of all four seasons makes people feel as if they have entered a dreamland. (About 60 minutes) Tip: Because visiting Midui Glacier takes a long time and requires hiking, lunch may be delayed. It is recommended that guests bring some snacks and high-calorie foods such as beef jerky and chocolate.

Rawu–Best Section of G318–Laigu Glacier–Bomi

After breakfast, you will travel along the most beautiful section of the classic G318 route, heading toward Bomi's [Laigu Glacier] accompanied by stunning scenery. Bomi enjoys the reputation of "Hometown of Glaciers." The multiple glaciers surrounding Laigu Village form the Laigu Glacier Group, creating several glacial lakes in front of the village. Due to differences in the geology and soil composition of each glacier, every glacial lake reflects a different color. One glacial lake even has icebergs of various sizes floating on it, making you feel as if you have arrived in Antarctica. Between the end of the glacier and the glacial lake, the fractured glacier reveals over ten meters of deep blue ice. The beauty of the glacier is breathtaking and dreamlike. (Approximately 3-4 hours; as Laigu Glacier takes a long time, it is recommended to bring your own food for lunch.) After visiting Laigu Glacier, you will arrive in Bomi for check-in. For dinner, taste Bomi's unique delicacy — wild mushroom hot pot.

Bomi–Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon–Suosong Village

After breakfast, you will drive to Nyingchi, passing through Lulang Forest Sea. [Lulang Forest Sea] sits deep in the mountains and old-growth forests. Here there are large stretches of verdant forest running continuously along the mountains, mainly composed of vertical spruces and pines. The scenery is very fresh and beautiful, and it is also a great place for photography. Lulang Forest Sea is very large. You can stand at the viewing platform on National Highway 318 and gaze at the forest amid the sea of clouds and mist. The entire attraction is as picturesque as a poem, with snow-capped mountains standing all around and lush forests in the valley—truly a paradise on earth. (About 30 minutes) After visiting Lulang Forest Sea, you will head to the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon. [Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon] is known as the "world's number one grand canyon." The Grand Canyon scenic area is the most mysterious region of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and has been rated as the world's deepest, longest, and highest-altitude grand canyon. Because the peaks and the canyon are neighbors within close reach, the intense topographic contrast of several thousand meters forms a magnificent wonder that can be called the world's number one. (About 90 minutes) After visiting the Grand Canyon, you will go to Suosong Village to check in. Suosong Village–Namcha Barwa Sunrise–Nyang River–Lhasa

This morning, you will go to watch the sunrise over Namcha Barwa. Watching the sunrise is a romantic thing; even alone, it is a beautiful memory. If you are lucky, you may also have the chance to see the stunning sight of golden sunlight on the snow-capped mountain. Afterward, you will pass through the Niyang River Scenic Belt. The Niyang River is the largest tributary on the north side of the Yarlung Tsangpo River and one of the five major tributaries in the Yarlung Tsangpo River basin. In the afternoon, you will cross the 5,013-meter-high Mira Pass. Standing at the pass, the mountain wind blows strongly. Under the blue sky and white clouds, colorful prayer flags flutter and sway between the earth and the sky, connecting earth and heaven and conveying the devout wishes of Tibetan people to the gods. The pass is covered with snow year-round and preserves traces of ancient glacial activity. Afterward, you will arrive in Lhasa for the night.

Lhasa–Yamdrok Lake–Karo La Glacier–Manla Reservoir–Shigatse

After breakfast, you will set off from Zetang for Shigatse in Tsang. Along the way, you will cross the 5,030-meter-high Gampa La Pass, which is also the best spot to overlook Yamdrok Lake. The azure sky and the lake mirror each other, and the pure water shows different shades of blue under the sunlight, a breathtaking sight. Afterwards, you will visit the world's highest freshwater lake, Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok Lake, or Yamdrok Tso for short, means "Lake of the Swan" in Tibetan. At an elevation of 4,441 meters, it is one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet, and its beauty is unmatched in southern Tibet. The clear water, towering snow mountains, and spotless blue sky merge into one, and the picturesque scenery is unforgettable. After visiting Yamdrok Lake, you will drive via Nagarze to visit the Karola Glacier at over 5,000 meters above sea level. The Karola Glacier lies beside the road, like a giant thangka hanging on the mountain wall, crystal clear and pure white, so close it seems you could touch it. Then you will continue toward Shigatse, passing the Noijin Kangsang Snow Mountain and the Manla Reservoir. The Noijin Kangsang Snow Mountain is shrouded in white clouds year-round, with snowflakes drifting down, accumulating and compacting over the years to form ice layers 20 to 100 meters thick. Under the influence of its own gravity, the ice moves slowly and has developed into multiple glaciers. The Manla Reservoir is similar to Yamdrok Lake, a stretch of emerald water nestled among the mountains. Although it is a man-made reservoir, the turquoise water set against the distant mountains looks especially beautiful. Afterwards, you will arrive in Shigatse for the night.

Shigatse–Gyatso La Pass–Everest Base Camp

After breakfast, you will depart from Shigatse for the world's highest peak — Mount Everest. Along the way, you will cross the [Gyatso La Pass] at an altitude of 5,248 meters, where you can gaze at Mount Everest in the distance and also admire Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu. Afterwards, you will continue to Everest Base Camp. [Everest Base Camp] is one of the best spots to view and photograph Mount Everest. At dusk, as night gradually shrouds the mountains, only the summit of Everest shines like a goddess's golden crown under the sunset glow in the sky, allowing you to enjoy the glory of standing atop the world. In addition, Everest Base Camp mainly provides accommodation for tourists, with restrooms and a tent post office — the highest-altitude post office in China. Tourists can send a postcard or letter to family and friends here, which is truly meaningful.

Everest Base Camp–Everest East Viewing Platform–Tingri Wetland–Qilin Gorge–Shigatse

This morning, while the peaks are still asleep in the dawn, you will face the rising sun and look up at Mount Everest, receiving a spiritual baptism from the world's highest peak,【Mount Everest】(elevation 8844.43 meters). Afterwards, carrying your lingering memories of Everest, you will return to Shigatse. Along the way, you will pass【Gawula Pass】at an elevation of 5210 meters, where you can see the spectacular sight of four snow-capped mountains over 8000 meters arranged in a row. From left to right, these four peaks are: Makalu (8463 meters); Lhotse (8516 meters); Mount Everest (8848 meters); Cho Oyu (8201 meters). Afterwards, you will continue onward to visit the Qilin Gorge scenic area.【Qilin Gorge】is a famous canyon geological landscape set within a long, deep gorge, sunken hundreds of meters below the surface. The earth forests rise like bamboo shoots, with towering boulders reaching toward the sky. They stretch out in vast arrays, interwoven and scattered, or arranged in groups of three or five, like solemn and independent guardians. At Qilin Gorge, you can personally experience the masterful craftsmanship of nature and marvel at its geological wonders of "majesty, wonder, peril, and uniqueness." Shigatse–Tashilhunpo Monastery–Northern Tibet Grassland–Shenzha

After breakfast, you will visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of successive Panchen Lamas. Tashilhunpo Monastery is a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The entire monastery is built along the hillside, backed by the auspicious Nyima Mountain. Its halls are connected and densely arranged. The high-rise main building complex with golden roofs and red walls is majestic, solid, spectacular, and resplendent. The monastery houses a 28-meter-high bronze Maitreya Buddha statue, the largest indoor bronze statue of its kind in the world. The murals in the monastery are also distinctive and are another masterpiece of Buddhist art. Afterward, amid the beautiful scenery of the Northern Tibet Grassland, you will head to Shenzha. On the Northern Tibet Grassland, beneath the blue sky, white clouds, and snow-capped mountains lies the boundless grassland. In the sunlight, the green grass shimmers with enchanting colors; in the distance, a small river looks like a silver ribbon, sparkling in the sun. After breakfast, you will first head to Co'e Lake for birdwatching. Co'e Lake is famous for its bird island, one of the highest bird islands in the world, where tens of thousands of birds of various species reside. Seen from a drone, the lake surface is like a giant green emerald, crystal clear, and also like a mirror, complementing the tile-blue sky and streamlined clouds. Afterwards, you will visit Siling Co. Siling Co is the largest lake in Tibet and a famous demon lake. With lush vegetation and full of vitality, it is a paradise for animals. Baingoin–Namtso–Lhasa

Today you will visit the heavenly lake Namtso. At Viewpoint No. 1 in the direction of Dabu Village, you can experience the majestic beauty of Namtso up close; at Viewpoint No. 2 on the cliff above Dabu Village, you can look down at the unique scenery of Namtso; and at the viewpoint on the east shore of Namtso, you can admire the stunning scenery of the lake. [Namtso] means "Heavenly Lake" in Tibetan and is one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet. Like a crystal-clear gem set upon the vast Changtang grasslands, it is serene and vast, with water and sky merging as one. Strolling by the lakeside feels like being in a fairyland. After visiting Namtso, you will pass through the Lakenla Pass, taking in the distant beauty of Namtso, and then return to Lhasa all the way accompanied by the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains.
