Arrive in Lhasa: Airport/Train Station Pickup + Hotel Check-in
The moment you arrive in Lhasa, the entire journey begins at an unhurried pace. Considering the special conditions of the plateau environment, we have thoughtfully arranged ample time for you to gradually adapt to the altitude, avoiding discomfort caused by rushing, and allowing your body to gently meet this land in comfort. [Warm Tips] Free airport/station pickup service is provided (5-9 seats): After arriving in Lhasa, a driver will take you to the hotel. Travel agency staff will inform you in advance how to collect your room at the hotel; please check in by yourself. If you have not received notice, please contact the travel agency staff promptly (see the tour departure notice) so they can provide timely assistance. The driver will notify you by phone or text message before 22:00 of the meeting time for departure the next day. Altitude sickness: On the day you arrive in Lhasa, do not engage in strenuous exercise, and do not take a shower that night to prevent catching a cold. Do not drink alcohol. Drink more water and eat fruit, and do not overeat. Rest more. You may bring American ginseng lozenges or health supplements such as rhodiola and Gaoyuan'an to help relieve altitude sickness. Try not to go out for activities. Maintaining a calm mindset and getting sufficient rest is the best way to prevent altitude sickness. If you feel unwell, seek treatment at a hospital promptly.

Lhasa City Day Tour: Potala Palace + Chakpori Hill + Tibetan Culture Experience + Barkhor Street
【Potala Palace · Sacred Hall】 When sunlight falls on the Potala Palace, this palace complex at the highest altitude in the world reveals its solemn and sacred appearance. Walking slowly up the steps, with your fingertips brushing the red walls that have endured thousands of years, it feels as if you can touch the pulse of history. Inside the palace, exquisitely beautiful murals tell of the rise and fall of the Tubo Dynasty, and precious cultural relics emit a warm luster under the glow of butter lamps. Standing at the top of the palace and looking down, you can take in the full view of Lhasa. The distant snow mountains and nearby residences complement each other, making people immerse themselves in the weight of history and the vividness of reality. 【Chakpori Hill Viewing Platform · Photography】 The nearby Chakpori Hill viewing platform is the perfect place to photograph a panoramic view of the Potala Palace. Here you can capture the same angle as on the 50-yuan RMB note. 【Tibetan Culture Experience and Barkhor Street · Pulse of Faith】 Now that you are in Lhasa, you can still experience traditional Tibetan handicrafts (Tibetan incense making). Head to the Tibetan Culture Experience Center to learn how refreshing Tibetan incense is made, and you can also participate in making it by hand, which is completely different in meaning from buying Tibetan incense. Then step into the lively Barkhor Street. This circular street is Lhasa's oldest commercial street and also an important route for pilgrims walking around to pray. On both sides of the street, Tibetan-style residences and various shops are arranged in picturesque disorder. Prayer wheels turn continuously under the push of believers, making crisp sounds. Strolling through it, you can choose distinctive Tibetan handicrafts, taste sweet butter tea and soft Tibetan pastries, and also see Tibetan compatriots in traditional clothing, experiencing the rich Tibetan customs. One specialty meal is included today (which can be arranged at noon or in the evening): Tibetan cuisine or Nepalese cuisine, to experience the local customs.

Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Karola Glacier → Shigatse
Depart from Lhasa, follow National Highway 349 past the blue waters of Yamdrok Lake (Yamdrok Yumtso), cross the ice tongue area of Karola Glacier, and finally arrive in Shigatse. The total distance is about 350 kilometers, with a drive of 7 hours, taking in snow mountains, holy lakes, and glacier wonders along the way. [Yamdrok Lake · Spiritual and Holy] It is one of the three great holy lakes of Tibet, formed when glacial debris blocked the river channel. The lake surface sits at an altitude of 4,441 meters and covers an area of 638 square kilometers. Viewed from above, the lake water is like a winding silk ribbon. Refracted by sunlight, the blue is rich in layers, sometimes light blue like a clear sky, sometimes deep blue like a mysterious gem. It is surrounded by snow mountains such as Noijin Kangsang Peak, which stands at 7,206 meters, majestic and spectacular, complementing Yamdrok Lake. Within the lake, 21 small islands are scattered like stars, each with its own character. [Karola Glacier · Wondrous] This glacier can be called "wondrous." It is located at the border between Nagarze County and Gyantse County, is one of the three major continental glaciers of Tibet, and is the eastern source of the Nyang Qu. It backs onto the southern slope of Noijin Kangsang Peak, and the front edge of its ice tongue sits at an altitude of 5,560 meters. The upper part of the glacier is a gently sloping ice cap, while the lower part is an ice tongue in the form of a hanging glacier. Under the sunlight, its ice surface gives off a cold gleam. Features such as crevasses and ice pagoda forests are extraordinary, as if they were ice-and-snow wonders carved by nature. Films such as Red River Valley were shot here.

Shigatse → Tashilhunpo Monastery → Lhasa
Depart from Shigatse, visit Tashilhunpo Monastery to feel the solemnity of the Buddhist realm, then set off back to Lhasa, ending the journey in the afterglow of the holy city. [Tashilhunpo Monastery · Buddhist Realm] Located on Jijilangka Road in Shigatse, it is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school and the largest monastery in the Tsang region. Its Tibetan name means "Auspicious Mount Sumeru." It covers an area of 150,000 square meters and contains 57 scripture halls and 3,600 rooms. The entire monastery is built along the hillside, with golden roofs and red walls, halls rising one after another, and a balanced density. The Tsuklakhang Hall is the earliest building in the monastery, and the scripture-teaching courtyard in front of the hall can accommodate many monks for debates. Its most stunning treasure is the world's largest bronze Maitreya Buddha enshrined in the Maitreya Buddha Hall—Maitreya, the Future Buddha: this gilded giant statue is 26.2 meters high and consumed 279 kilograms of gold and 230,000 jin of brass. Its hand alone can accommodate three people standing. The Relic Pagoda Hall enshrines the stupas of successive Panchen Lamas, and the monastery also houses a large number of precious cultural relics. This is a holy place of worship for Buddhist believers and an excellent place to experience the charm of Tibetan Buddhist culture.
