The Jinshanling to Simatai Great Wall hike is the most popular hiking route in Beijing Municipality, which takes about 3 hours with only moderate difficulty. After the hiking, you could stay a night in Gubei Water Town with luxury hotels near the Simatai Great Wall, which is the only section equipped for Great Wall night visits.
