From multilingual services to payment acceptance, from expanded ports of entry to one-stop service centers, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, and other places continue to roll out inbound tourism facilitation measures, making overseas travelers' experience in China smoother.

The inbound travel experience ultimately comes down to the details at "the moment you land." Around these details, several key provinces and cities are continuously stepping up facilitation measures.

Guangdong: Greater Bay Area coordination, integrated services

  • More ports have been added to the scope of visa-free transit, further smoothing inbound channels into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area;
  • Multilingual inbound travel guides have been compiled to provide travel guidance with "no language barriers and zero-distance information";
  • Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the two major international aviation hubs, have upgraded and built comprehensive inbound passenger facilitation service centers integrating multilingual consultation, convenient payment, communication services and transportation guidance;
  • Multilingual public service hotlines have been launched, offering "one-stop" services such as travel consultation, online booking, tour guide and navigation, mobile payment, and mobile phone card application.

Beijing: Digital platform with multilingual coverage

  • A self-service consumption platform for inbound travelers has been launched, integrating multilingual services, cross-border payment and local consumption scenarios;
  • Increase the coverage of multilingual signage at key locations such as airports, high-speed rail stations, scenic areas, and major commercial districts, and strengthen foreign language training for service staff;
  • Support scanning a QR code before entry to apply for a card, and allow quick card collection after entry;
  • Promote the acceptance of domestic and foreign bank cards at key cultural and tourism venues, and launch centralized departure tax refund points.

Shanghai: Payment Coverage, Service Facilities

  • Deploy a large number of POS machines that accept foreign cards, promote full coverage of foreign card acceptance at key scenarios, and optimize foreign currency exchange services;
  • Build a large number of luggage storage service points to make it convenient for tourists to travel light;
  • Increase the coverage of multilingual signage in key venues, and encourage lifestyle service apps to offer multilingual versions;
  • Build landmark commercial districts to provide richer consumption and experience scenarios for Chinese and foreign tourists.

A Common Direction

Reviewing measures across various regions, a clear common thread emerges:Smoother payments, better language access, more integrated services, and more convenient entry channels. These seemingly trivial improvements, when added up, form the foundation of an effortless trip to China.
