It was jointly built by the Chen clans of 72 counties in Guangdong and completed in 1893. The lion dance performance is a major highlight of the Foshan Ancestral Temple. It combines Chinese martial arts, dance, and drum music and is a 35-40 minute performance by professional masters and apprentices from Foshan martial arts schools or a professional dragon and lion dance troupe outside the Wong Fei-hung Memorial Hall. Jiangmen is known as the "Capital of Chinese Overseas Chinese" and "China's First Hometown of Overseas Chinese," and is also the filming location for many popular Chinese film and television works such as Let the Bullets Fly, The Grandmaster, and The Knockout. Kaiping is famous for its Kaiping Diaolou and Villages, the only World Cultural Heritage Site in Guangdong Province and China's first overseas Chinese cultural World Heritage Site. It is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Diaolou," with 1,833 existing diaolou integrating diverse architectural styles such as ancient Greek, ancient Roman, and Islamic. At its peak, there were more than 3,000. Reasons for the prevalence of Kaiping Diaolou: Because Kaiping is located at the junction of four counties, with low-lying terrain and dense river networks, floods and banditry coexisted historically.
