Lhasa City Tour: Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Sera Monastery
This morning you will visit the 【Jokhang Temple】, the holy site in the hearts of Tibetan Buddhist believers. Lama Nyima Tsering once said, "If you go to Lhasa without visiting the Jokhang Temple, it is as if you have never been to Lhasa," and countless travelers who have been there fully agree with this view. The Jokhang Temple blends Tibetan, Tang, Nepalese, and Indian architectural styles, and is a model of Tibetan religious architecture. Incense smoke lingers in front of the temple all day long, and the devout prostrations of believers have left deep imprints of full-body kowtows on the bluestone floor before the gate. Ten thousand butter lamps burn continuously, leaving traces of time and pilgrims. Here, worship of the Buddha continues day and night. After leaving the Jokhang Temple, you can stroll around 【Barkhor Street】. The street encircling the outer wall of the Jokhang Temple is called "Barkhor Street," also known as Bajiao Street. This is the route where Tibetans perform their kora rituals. It gathers pilgrims from all over; on the ancient streets and in the old alleys, Tibetans in bright ethnic clothing and poorly clad believers all walk devoutly along the same pilgrimage path... In the afternoon, you will visit 【Sera Monastery】, one of the three great monasteries of Lhasa. Sera Monastery is also one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery is solemn and sacred, and at Sera Monastery you can watch the famous debate sessions. The debates generally start at 15:00, and during the debates the monks engage in fierce argument, allowing you to truly feel the faith and power of Tibetan Buddhism. (If the monastery temporarily holds religious ceremonies or receives special guests, the debate sessions may be canceled. Please understand!!)

Lhasa City Tour: Potala Palace, Tibetan Culture Experience
This morning you will visit the Potala Palace, the world's highest ancient palace-fortress complex, and the residence of successive Dalai Lamas as well as the center of Tibetan political and religious power. Before ascending the Potala Palace, you must climb 1,080 steps. Although it can be a bit tiring, along the way you can overlook the entire city of Lhasa, and the beautiful scenery will make you forget your physical fatigue! In the afternoon you will go to the Tibetan Culture Experience Center to experience the making of traditional Tibetan handicrafts. While learning how refreshing Tibetan incense is made, you can also participate in making it yourself, which is completely different in meaning from buying Tibetan incense. There will also be a dedicated teacher to teach you how to write your own name in Tibetan script and conduct woodblock printing. The Tibetan incense you make yourself and the printed text can be taken home as a souvenir of the Tibetan cultural experience.

Lhasa-Samye Monastery-Yumbulagang-Tsetang
After breakfast, you will depart from Lhasa for Zedang in Shannan. The first visit is Samye Monastery, the first monastery in Tibet. Located at the foot of Habu Mountain on the north bank of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, Samye Monastery is the first monastery in the history of Tibetan Buddhism to possess all three treasures of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The monastery houses cultural heritage such as murals and sculptures from various historical periods since the Tubo Dynasty. In the afternoon, you will visit Yumbulagang Palace and Changzhu Temple. Yumbulagang is the first palace in Tibetan history and one of the earliest buildings in Tibet. Located on the summit of Zaxiciri Mountain on the east bank of the Yarlung River, it is said to have been built by Bon followers in the 2nd century BC for the first Tibetan king, Nyatri Tsenpo. It later became the summer palace of Songtsen Gampo and Princess Wencheng in Shannan, and was converted into a Gelug monastery during the time of the 5th Dalai Lama. Afterward, you will visit Changzhu Temple, where it is said Princess Wencheng also practiced. Inside Changzhu Temple there is a huge pearl thangka depicting Avalokitesvara at rest, inlaid with nearly 30,000 pearls and various gemstones, priceless in value. When you reach Changzhu Temple, be sure not to miss this thangka.

Shannan-Shigatse-Tashilhunpo Monastery
Today you will depart from Shannan for Shigatse to visit [Tashilhunpo Monastery]. Tashilhunpo Monastery is the largest monastery in Shigatse and the residence of successive Panchen Lamas. It was once the political ruling center of the rear Tibet region. The monastery enshrines the world's largest seated bronze Buddha statue, the 28-meter-high "Maitreya Buddha" (the Buddha of the Future).

Shigatse-Karola Glacier-Yamdrok Lake-Lhasa
After breakfast, you will return to Lhasa, about 380 kilometers in total, taking around 7 hours by car, but the scenery along the way is very beautiful, and you will also pass the Karola Glacier and Yamdrok Lake. 【Karola Glacier】is one of the three major continental glaciers in Tibet. The glacier is backed by the Noijin Kangsang Snow Mountain, one of the four highest peaks in Tibet. The massive glacier extends from the misty clouds at the mountaintop all the way down to the roadside, just a few hundred meters from the highway. Although the glacier appears in black-and-white layers due to years of dust from the highway, the upper part of the glacier shines brilliantly in the sunlight, like a giant thangka hanging on the mountain wall. 【Yamdrok Lake】is a freshwater lake and one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet. The water is as clear as mutton fat and sweet enough to drink. The deep blue water merges with the distant snow mountains, and with the colorful mountain ranges on both sides, the distinctive Tibetan villages, and the herds of cattle and sheep everywhere, the journey is truly refreshing. Yamdrok Lake covers an area of 638 square kilometers, with a surface elevation of 4,441 meters and a shoreline of 250 kilometers. This lake is also considered a turquoise earring dropped to the mortal world by a goddess. Standing at the top of Gangbala Mountain at 4,950 meters and looking south, Yamdrok Lake looks like a sapphire inlaid among the peaks, its blue water smooth as a mirror, reflecting the bright blue sky. Then you will ascend to Gangbala Pass, at an altitude of 4,950 meters, the best viewpoint for viewing Yamdrok Lake. After the visit, you will descend the mountain, passing 【Yarlung River Valley】, where you can see the Yarlung Tsangpo River valley area. This is a viewing platform with Tibetan mastiffs and sheep available for paid photos. Finally, you will descend all the way back to downtown Lhasa.
