Then we head to Huangyuan County, where your Qinghai journey begins. After lunch in Huangyuan County, we pass by Riyue Mountain and Daotang River and arrive at the "Plateau Sapphire" [Qinghai Lake]. Like a brilliant pearl, Qinghai Lake is beautifully set among high mountains and grasslands. Deep and boundless azure, the clear and vast lake is surrounded by large fields of golden rapeseed flowers and rolling green grasslands, dotted with colorful prayer flags, yaks, and flocks of sheep—a rich, colorful scene unique to Qinghai Lake where water and sky merge into one (we recommend visiting the Tibetan Qinghai Lake scenic spot) or (you may visit Erlangjian Scenic Area at your own expense, ticket 90 yuan). After touring Qinghai Lake, continue along the lakeside road to [Heimahe], pass the rolling [Rubber Mountain], and amid scenery of herds of cattle and sheep and continuous mountain ranges, arrive at tonight's accommodation in Chaka Town. Drive: 350 km, depending on group size, 2- to 6-seat off-road vehicles/business vans Warm Tips 1. If you want to enter the fenced areas of the Qinghai Lake region to visit and take photos of local residents, yaks, and sheep, you need to ask about the price in advance. 2. To avoid altitude sickness during your trip, it is recommended not to do strenuous exercise and to ensure sufficient sleep and good rest. Qinghai Lake is about 3,000 meters above sea level. 3. After a brief visit, continue to Yuzhu Peak. After a short stop here, head to the Ancestor of Ten Thousand Mountains — Kunlun Mountain. The Qinghai-Tibet Highway and Railway are built directly on the extremely hard salt crust covering the lake, dividing the lake surface into two parts. The salt bridge is 32 kilometers long and is also known as the "Ten-Thousand-Zhang Salt Bridge." The lake water is emerald green, and the salt flowers in the lake are crystal clear and come in countless shapes, adorning the salt lake in a most enchanting way. Next, visit the two-colored lake [West Taijinar Lake], which is split into azure and emerald-green parts by National Highway G315 running through the middle of the lake. The next attraction is the purest sky mirror deep in Qaidam, [Mangya Emerald Lake].
