Suggested ways to arrive 1. By air: Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN) is the only international airport serving Huangshan City. Domestic flights to and from Huangshan are available from major cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guilin, Chongqing, Chengdu, and Xi'an. 2. By train: There are 3 commonly used railway stations in Huangshan. You can arrive by high-speed rail from cities such as Shanghai (2.5 to 3.5 hours), Hangzhou (1.5 to 2 hours), Suzhou (2 to 3.5 hours), Beijing (5.5 to 7 hours), and Guangzhou (7 hours).

After breakfast, you will be taken to visit the picturesque Hongcun. [Hongcun] is the most representative ancient village in southern Anhui and a famous World Heritage site. It is known for its typical Huizhou-style architecture, unique water system layout, and long history and culture, and enjoys the reputation of "a village in a Chinese painting." About 140 well-preserved ancient Ming and Qing dwellings are scattered throughout the village, mostly featuring white walls, black tiles, horse-head walls, and carved beams and painted rafters, like a living Huizhou scroll. The tranquil water landscape fills Hongcun with spirituality. The painted bridge spans the lake, with light and shadow interweaving—utterly charming. You can stroll and explore this ink-wash ancient village, checking in at popular spots such as Nanhu Academy, Chengzhi Hall, Wang Clan Ancestral Hall, the ancient trees, Moon Pond, and South Lake. After lunch, you will drive to Huangshan, one of China's famous Five Great Mountains. [Huangshan] is not only a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site but also one of the outstanding representatives of China's magnificent mountains and rivers and splendid culture. It is renowned for its "Five Wonders" of strangely shaped pines, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow, as well as its "Five Excellences" of historical relics, painting and calligraphy, literature, legends, and celebrities. It enjoys the reputation of "the most fantastic mountain under heaven," and the saying "Having returned from the Five Great Mountains, no other mountains are worth seeing; having returned from Huangshan, no other mountains are worth visiting" is the highest praise for Huangshan. Today's Huangshan tour route reference: Yungu Cableway → Shixin Peak → Paiyun Pavilion → Bright Summit → Flying Stone. The total walk is about 6 kilometers and takes about 5 hours. To maximize your time and energy and experience Huangshan's enchanting scenery, we will arrange for you to take a sightseeing bus from the foot of Huangshan to Yungu Temple, then take the cableway to Bai'e Peak Station (8 minutes). As the cableway ascends, you can overlook the majestic peaks and the misty clouds lingering among the mountains, as ifin a fairyland. Along the way, you can also see various strangely shaped pines and rocks, appreciating Huangshan's stunning scenery from a unique perspective. After arriving at Bai'e Peak Station, you will begin an exciting hike to Shixin Peak, passing scenic spots such as Black Tiger Pine, Harp Pine, and Interlocking Pine. The scenery is enchanting and perfect for photos. Along the way, you can also capture the myriad forms of grotesque peaks and rocks—nature's uncanny workmanship offers endless imagination and the best experience. Standing on Shixin Peak, you can take in the magnificent mountain scenery around you. After enjoying the scenery of Shixin Peak, you will hike about 40 minutes to the summit hotel to rest. After a short rest, you can choose to watch the stunning sunset at Paiyun Pavilion or the higher Bright Summit. Paiyun Pavilion is named because the clouds and mist from the West Sea rise and roll, dissipating upon reaching the stone pavilion. Here, you can enjoy magnificent views of the sea of clouds, sunset glow, grotesque peaks, and deep valleys. Especially when the sun sets and the sunset glow radiates, it is enchanting. It takes about 30 minutes to return to the hotel from Paiyun Pavilion. Bright Summit (about 1,860 meters above sea level) is one of Huangshan's main peaks and the second-highest peak. Here, you can view the sea of clouds, strange pines, grotesque rocks, peaks, sunrise and sunset. The sunset with red clouds filling the sky is extremely beautiful. It takes about 40 minutes to hike back to the hotel from Bright Summit. If your time and energy permit, consider extending by 1 hour to hike to the Tianhai Scenic Area to see the Flying Stone. This is a famous attraction in Huangshan, about 12 meters high and weighing 600 tons, standing on a flat rock with a very small contact area at the base, as if it flew in from outer space. Travel Tips 1. Travel Light: There is a lot of walking in Huangshan. To save energy and enjoy the tour easily, it is recommended to carry only essentials or store your luggage at the foot of the mountain. 2. Environmental Hygiene: Some hotels on Huangshan do not provide disposable toiletries. Therefore, for environmental hygiene, it is recommended to bring your own. 3. Accommodation Note: Staying on Huangshan allows more time to enjoy its many beauties, especially the sunrise and sea of clouds. However, due to high transportation costs on the mountain, hotel facilities may be limited. Even star-rated hotels may not meet the standards of big cities like Shanghai. In addition, the mountain climate is humid, and rooms may be a bit damp. Although choices are limited, we will select relatively comfortable hotels for you.

Today's Huangshan touring route for reference: Sunrise - West Sea Grand Canyon - Lion Peak - Cloud Valley Cableway, about 5 km of walking in total, taking about 4 hours. Early this morning (usually around 5 to 6 a.m.), you can get up early to enjoy the most magnificent natural wonder - the Huangshan sunrise: as the first light of dawn appears, the eastern sky gradually turns pale, then red glow begins to spread across the horizon, the first rays of dawn emerge, and the rosy clouds shine brilliantly, a breathtaking sight. (Warm tips: 1. The temperature in the mountains in the early morning is very low, so it is recommended to wear thicker clothes. 2. The sunrise is affected by weather and season, and whether you can see it depends on the actual conditions.) After enjoying the sunrise, return to the hotel to have breakfast. After breakfast, head to the fantastical West Sea Grand Canyon, where there are magnificent canyon scenery, peculiar grotesque rock peaks and forests, and enchanting seas of clouds, making it one of the must-see attractions in Huangshan. It is worth mentioning that this hiking itinerary can be tailored to your physical strength and time. (Note: The hiking path in the West Sea Grand Canyon is thrilling and rugged, full of challenges, and highly demanding on physical strength; in addition, during cold weather and heavy snow, the West Sea Grand Canyon is usually closed.) Afterwards, head to the steep Lion Peak (about 1,690 meters above sea level), named because it resembles a crouching male lion. Qingliang Terrace is the lion's waist, and Shuguang Pavilion is the lion's tail, both of which are the best places to view Huangshan's stunning sunrise and sea of clouds. In addition, at Lion Peak you can also see one of Huangshan's iconic attractions - Monkey Watching the Sea, famous for its lifelike monkey image. The stone monkey sits alone on the peak, as if gazing into the distance, and also as if about to leap while quietly watching the sea of clouds. The scene is spectacular and a perfect place for photos. After that, walk to the Bai'e Ridge cableway station and take the Cloud Valley Cableway down the mountain. Our driver is already waiting at the foot of the mountain in advance and will send you back to Huangshan City. After arriving in Huangshan City, you may want to visit [Tunxi Old Street], known as "today's Song City." This is one of China's best-preserved ancient commercial streets with architectural styles from the Southern Song and Ming-Qing dynasties, with a history of several hundred years, 832 meters long and 5-8 meters wide. The entire district consists of 1 straight street, 3 cross streets, and 18 alleys, forming a unique fishbone-shaped layout. Strolling through it, you can admire the simple and elegant Huizhou-style architecture and the picturesque ancient town scenery, browse various antique-style shops with gilded signboards, and taste authentic Huizhou cuisine.

After breakfast, you will depart from Huangshan and drive about 1.5 to 2 hours (about 80 kilometers) to Huangling Village in Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province. [Huangling Village] has a very vivid nickname—"Cliff Village." The entire village is built on a cliff, with Huizhou-style buildings of white walls and black tiles arranged in picturesque disorder. It is most famous for "shaiqiu"—when the harvest season arrives, villagers dry red chili peppers, yellow corn, and golden grains under the eaves and on drying racks, as if a palette has been accidentally overturned, creating a vibrant scene with the ancient village. Surrounding the village are terraced fields layered one upon another. If you come in spring, rapeseed flowers cover the slopes like a golden sea; in other seasons, the fields also change into different colors, never growing tiresome. Many photography enthusiasts call it "China's most beautiful countryside," and every casual shot looks like a postcard. After visiting Huangling Village, drive to Jingdezhen, the world's "Porcelain Capital" with a thousand years of ceramic history, where the air seems to carry the scent of clay and glaze. After arriving in Jingdezhen, you can explore the [Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative Block], transformed from an old porcelain factory. With galleries, studios, design shops, and cafes everywhere, it is a wonderful place to appreciate modern ceramics, meet young ceramic artists, and find unique, heartfelt souvenirs. Warm reminder: Taoxichuan is also very beautiful at night. The chimneys and red brick walls of the old factory buildings have a special charm under the lights. If time permits, you can stay until the evening before leaving.

Today, you have a full day to explore Jingdezhen and gain a deeper understanding of China's long-standing ceramic culture. First, head to the China Ceramics Museum. [China Ceramics Museum] is China's most authoritative and comprehensive ceramics-themed museum and a National First-Class Museum. From simple pottery jars of the Neolithic Age to Tang dynasty sancai, Song dynasty qingbai ware, Yuan dynasty blue-and-white porcelain, and then rare treasures from the Ming and Qing imperial kilns—more than 50,000 collection pieces clearly tell the story of Chinese ceramics. After a full tour, you will understand why Jingdezhen is hailed as the world's "Porcelain Capital." Visitor tip: The China Ceramics Museum is closed on Mondays. Inside, there is an unexpected "internet celebrity"—the "Speechless Buddha." Its real name is "Meditating Arhat," created by porcelain sculpture master Zeng Longsheng in the 1930s. That expression, as if "speechless at the world," made it unexpectedly go viral on social media. Do not forget to greet its "neighbors" too—the "Reaching Arhat" (netizens jokingly call it "Happy Arhat," with both hands spread as if making a peace sign) and the "Long-Eyebrow Arhat" (netizens jokingly call it "Long-Browed Arhat," with long eyebrows, both wise and amusing). DIY pottery experience: You can join a DIY pottery class and, under the teacher's guidance, sit at the potter's wheel and feel the clay spin and take shape in your palms. Even if the bowl you make is crooked, it is still one of a kind in the world. Afterward, take a walk in [Taoyangli]. This is the old city center of Jingdezhen, preserving the most authentic urban layout—kiln sites, workshops, and residences packed closely together, just as they have been for hundreds of years. Wandering through the narrow alleys, you will find many small studios, handmade ceramic shops, handicraft stalls, and cafes, each hiding a surprise. Do not miss the distinctive [Imperial Kiln Museum]. Its iconic red-brick arches are inspired by traditional kilns, and the design is striking. Especially at dusk, when the lights come on, the whole building looks like a lit lantern against the twilight—every casual shot is a masterpiece.

Before leaving Jingdezhen, why not spend your last morning on its rural scenery? There is no city noise here—only art, mountains and water, and a somewhat incredible story. First, visit the [Sanbao International Ceramic Art Village], hidden in a lush green valley with bamboo groves and babbling streams. Originally old farmhouses and rammed-earth workshops, it was later transformed by a group of ceramic artists into galleries, studios, and stylish cafes. Walking through the village, you can see international artists creating and exchanging here, and feel another rhythm of Jingdezhen—slower, more relaxed, and more aesthetically pleasing. Tip: Finding a cafe to sit down, have a drink, and listen to the stream is the best way to experience Sanbao. Next, go to Xinping Village to see the [Porcelain Palace], an architectural wonder often compared to Gaudi's Park Güell—but the story behind it is even more moving than the building itself. The builder was Yu Ermei, an elderly woman who began construction at the age of 86, spent her life savings, and took five years to hand-build this circular palace. The entire building is covered with over 60,000 pieces of porcelain and tons of ceramic shards—blue-and-white, famille rose, colored glaze... pieced together into a colorful mosaic scroll, a perfect finale for photos.
