Today you will begin your journey through Shannan. First, you will visit Zhegu Grassland. 【Zhegu Grassland】 is a vast prairie along the "National Highway" G219, where you can truly experience the beautiful scene of "the sky so vast, the wilderness so boundless, and as the wind blows the grass low, cattle and sheep appear." Afterwards, you will continue to Zhegu Lake. 【Zhegu Lake】 is very close to Zhegu Grassland, like a sapphire set upon the prairie. When the midday breeze ripples across the lake, the shimmering fragments of light flicker in and out of view, like mischievous stars sneaking out to play, bringing the colors of the sky down to earth. Afterwards, you will set off again, accompanied by the beautiful Qalagang Snow Mountain, following National Highway 219 all the way to Qaijiu Monastery. 【Qaijiu Monastery】 is located atop the mist-shrouded peak of "Gyapugqen" and is one of the famous retreat sanctuaries of the Nyingma school, with a history of over 1,200 years. Surrounded by lush mountains and rich primeval forest vegetation, Qaijiu Monastery looks from afar like a castle in the air. You will stay overnight at Qaijiu Monastery.

Kaju Monastery - Saika Gutuo Monastery - Baima Lin Lake - Kula Kangri - Cuoyu Village - Lhozhag

After breakfast, you will set off from Kaju Monastery and first visit Seka Gutok Monastery. Seka Gutok Monastery, also known as Sangka Gutok Monastery, is a monastery of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism with a history of over 900 years. In its center stands a nine-story, 28-meter-high watchtower, also known as the Nine-Story Buddha Tower. The monastery also preserves murals of the deeds and figures of the Kagyu lineage, as well as early murals of the Tibetan Mendang painting school and Tubo scriptures, possessing extremely high historical, cultural, and artistic value. Afterwards, you will head to Baima Linktso. Baima Linktso is located deep in the Himalayas, a beautiful lake surrounded by the Kula Kangri peaks. Legend has it that Baima Linktso is also a reflection lake; if you are fortunate, you may even see your past and present lives in the water. After visiting Baima Linktso, you will go to the Kula Kangri Sacred Mountain viewing platform to immerse yourself in the scenery of Kula Kangri. Kula Kangri is one of the four great sacred mountains of Tibet. The entire snow mountain consists of three peaks, and from afar it looks like a massive barrier of ice and snow. Afterwards, you will pass through Cuoyu Village and head to Lhozhag for overnight stay.

Lhozhag - Mongda La Pass - Puma Yumco - Yamdrok Lake "Thousand Island Lake" - Ritro Monastery - Gonggar Airport - Lhasa

After breakfast, you will set off from Lhozhag, first crossing the Mengda La Pass at an elevation of 5,363 meters. 【Mengda La Pass】is a superb snow mountain viewing platform, where you can admire the majestic presence of the Kula Kangri sacred mountain range and feel an indescribable sense of grandeur. Afterwards, you will visit Puma Yumco. 【Puma Yumco】is a saltwater lake amid the Himalayas, with a surface elevation of 5,010 meters. "Puma" means "young girl," and "Yumco" means "a lake like jasper," so Puma Yumco is also known as the Maiden Lake. Puma Yumco is surrounded by continuous snow mountains, with the towering Kula Kangri sacred mountain right beside the lake. Its waters are deep blue and crystal clear—sitting by the lakeside will give you an urge never to leave. In winter, the lake surface freezes over, making the scenery even more enchanting. After visiting Puma Yumco, you will head to the Luri La Scenic Area. 【Luri La Scenic Area】enjoys the reputation of a "Thousand Island Lake" and is a very off-the-beaten-path attraction. Looking out from the summit of Luri La, the islands of various sizes and shapes in Yamdrok Lake are scattered in an orderly yet varied pattern, some dense and some sparse. The only difference from Hangzhou's Thousand Island Lake is that here the sky is bluer, the clouds are whiter, and the water is greener! Afterwards, you will visit the "internet-famous" Rituo Temple by Yamdrok Lake. 【Rituo Temple】means "stone on the mountain." Standing alone on the shore of the jade-like Yamdrok Lake, it is the only building on a peninsula in the lake. One lake, one temple, one monk, one lifetime—this has continued for 700 years. Through the changing seasons, sunrise and sunset, and the washing away of worldly conflicts, practice means staying here until it becomes a way of life one can no longer leave. That is why it is also called the loneliest temple. Finally, you will return to Lhasa via Gonggar Airport.
