Arrive in Lhasa

Welcome to Lhasa, the holy city of the snowy plateau (altitude 3,650 meters). Our driver will greet you outside Lhasa Railway Station (Airport), present you with a white khata, and take you to your hotel to rest. Warm reminder: Please do not take a shower on the day of arrival. Eat more vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water, and it is best not to smoke or drink alcohol. After breakfast, you will depart from Lhasa for Nyingchi. Along the way, you will pass through the 【Mila Mountain Tunnel】. Mila Mountain is the boundary mountain between Lhasa and Nyingchi (Central Tibet and Eastern Tibet). The Mila Mountain Tunnel that runs through this mountain is the world's highest-altitude extra-long highway tunnel and a beautiful sight along the Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway. Afterwards, you will arrive at Basum Lake Scenic Area. 【Basum Lake】is the only natural 5A-level scenic area in Tibet, known as Nyingchi's "Little Switzerland." The scenic area combines snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, waterfall pastures, cultural relics and historic sites, and famous ancient temples. Its scenery is extraordinary and varies with the four seasons, with a concentration of rare wild plants—truly a paradise on earth. About one hundred meters from the shore of Basum Lake is a small island called Tashi Island. Legend says the island is a "hollow island," meaning it is not connected to the lake bottom but floats on the water. On the island stands the Tang Dynasty building "Cuozong Gongba Temple," a famous Nyingma school temple of the Red Sect in Tibet. After visiting Basum Lake, you will head to Lulang Town. Along the way, you will cross the 4,702-meter-high 【Sejila Pass】, where you can gaze at Namcha Barwa, crowned the most beautiful of China's top ten famous mountains, and ring a bell to pray for blessings. Afterwards, you will arrive at Lulang. 【Lulang Town】is the most beautiful town in Tibet. Here you can experience horseback riding on the Tibetan plateau and Gongbo-style whistling-arrow archery. Under the blue sky and white clouds, with green grass like a carpet and wildflowers everywhere, horses play leisurely by the stream, and yaks sway their massive bodies while keeping company with the green grass. You can ride a fine plateau horse and gallop freely, or experience the Gongbo people's distinctive folk service of whistling-arrow archery. After visiting, enjoy dinner featuring Lulang's specialty dish—Lulang Stone Pot Chicken—and check into the hotel for rest.

Nyingchi - Yani Glass Walkway - Yarlung Tsangpo River - Jiangxin Island - Niyang Pavilion - Nyingchi

After breakfast, you will depart from Nyingchi and first visit Yani National Wetland Park to experience the popular glass walkway in the wetland. [Yani National Wetland Park] is where the Yarlung Tsangpo River crosses mountains and ridges to reach Nyingchi and meets the Nyang River, forming a vast delta wetland. The water of the Yarlung Tsangpo River is yellow and turbid, while the water of the Nyang River is blue-green. At the confluence, the colors are sharply distinct, and the Benri Sacred Mountain towers into the clouds. Snow-capped mountains rise high, rivers wind along, forming beautiful mountain-and-water scenery and an epic, magnificent, and stunning picture. Walking onto the glass walkway in the wetland, you can take in all the beautiful scenery at a glance. After visiting Yani Wetland Park, you will go to the banks of the Yarlung Tsangpo River to taste the Yarlung River fish banquet. In the afternoon, you will visit the Yarlung Tsangpo River. [Yarlung Tsangpo River] is the highest and longest plateau river in the world. Originating from the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas, it rushes here to form a magnificent plateau river. Snow peaks stand on both banks, peach blossoms and colorful forests alternate through the four seasons in the mountains, and the great river flows ceaselessly at your feet. Here you can take a boat tour on the Yarlung Tsangpo River and also experience horseback riding and archery on the river island. Afterwards, go to visit the pearl by the Yarlung Tsangpo River - Niyang Pavilion. [Niyang Pavilion] is the first pavilion in Tibet. Climbing up the pavilion, you can overlook the panorama of Nyingchi Bayi Town, see the two largest wetlands on the Nyang River, the 'Cross Bridge' and 'Niangru', and also look up at many sacred mountains such as Abuduzhu, Biri Sacred Mountain, Luolai Mountain, Tiger Mountain, and Qiongbuzenggen. After finishing, return to Nyingchi for accommodation.

Nyingchi - Tibetan Village - Sijinlaco - Lhasa

After breakfast, you will set off from Nyingchi and return to Lhasa. Along the way, you will first visit a Tibetan village. The 【Tibetan village】 is laid out in picturesque disorder, with fragrant flowers in the Tibetan courtyards. The village, together with the green mountains, clear waters, blue sky, and white clouds, forms a delightful watercolor painting. Here you can listen to Tibetan family stories, enjoy Tibetan dances, view houses with distinctive Tibetan features, and experience the local customs. Lhasa - Yamdrok Lake - Holy Lake Photo Shoot - Lhasa

Today you will visit Yamdrok Lake, one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet. On the way to Yamdrok Lake, you will cross the Gambala Pass at an altitude of 4,600 meters, where you can gaze at the Gambala Radar Station in the distance, and it is also the best vantage point for viewing the panorama of Yamdrok Lake. Afterwards, continue onward to visit the world's highest freshwater lake - Yamdrok Lake. 【Yamdrok Lake】, or Yang Lake for short, means "Lake of the Swan" in Tibetan. The lake surface sits at an altitude of 4,441 meters, and its beauty is unmatched in southern Tibet. The crystal-clear water, towering snow mountains and azure sky merge into one, and the picturesque scenery is so enchanting that one cannot bear to leave. Lhasa - Potala Palace - Chakpori Hill - Qing Dynasty Amban Site - Jokhang Temple Square - Lhasa

Today you will explore Lhasa city, visiting the world's highest ancient palace-fortress complex, the [Potala Palace]. Climb up the long staircase step by step, overlooking Lhasa as you go, taking in the magnificent panorama of the city. Pause for photos and rest along the way, then enter the Potala Palace to explore this mysterious ancient palace for which very few interior photos exist online. Afterwards, you can go to the [Zongjiao Lukang Park] to walk the kora circuit and experience prayer-wheel spinning. In Zongjiao Lukang Park, you will see devout pilgrims everywhere, gently twirling their prayer wheels, sliding the shiny prayer beads through their fingers, and murmuring mantras. You can also go to the [Chakpori Hill] viewing platform to photograph the Potala Palace. Chakpori Hill stands directly opposite the Potala Palace and is the best spot for photographing it, especially halfway up the hill; this is also the location featured on the 50-yuan banknote. Afterwards, you will visit the [Qing Dynasty Amban Site]. The traditional Tibetan compound housing the exhibition hall is called "Chongsaikang Zhakang," a three-story Tibetan-style courtyard building located on the north street of Barkhor Street in the old city of Lhasa, in the heart of the old town, with a history of over 300 years. The Qing government established its first Amban office here, where the imperial residents of Tibet worked and lived. Because the Amban could enjoy a close view of the bustling Barkhor Street from the windows of the south building, this place was called "Chongsaikang," meaning "the house from which one can see the market." Next you will arrive at Jokhang Temple Square. [Jokhang Temple Square] is the final destination of countless pilgrims. For hundreds of years, pilgrims have traveled great distances to come here, prostrating every three steps, measuring the distance from their hometowns with their bodies.
