Beijing City Day Tour: Tiananmen Square + Forbidden City + Temple of Heaven
After breakfast, you will head to visit the world-renowned Tiananmen Square. [Tiananmen Square] is located on Beijing's central axis and is the largest city-center square in the world. It holds an important place in Chinese history and has witnessed countless major historical events. Here you can view the majestic and solemn Tiananmen Gate Tower and learn about China's long-standing culture. Afterwards, cross the square and proceed to visit the Beijing Palace Museum. [The Forbidden City], also known as the Purple Forbidden City, is located at the center of Beijing's central axis. It was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties and is the world's largest and best-preserved wooden-structure palace complex of the Forbidden City. Here you can visit the important halls one by one along the central axis, admiring the splendid and exquisite ancient palace architecture while following the guide's commentary to further understand the historical stories of the Forbidden City. After finishing, you can also go to the nearby Jingshan Park (about a 15-minute walk) to overlook the panoramic view of the Forbidden City and the magnificent scenery of Beijing. This afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Heaven. [The Temple of Heaven], originally named the Altar of Heaven and Earth, was the place where ancient emperors worshipped heaven, prayed for good harvests, and prayed for rain. It is also the largest existing ancient sacrificial architectural complex in China, famous for its peculiar and magnificent architecture and its long, fascinating culture. Here you can learn about the ancient sacrificial rituals and visit structures such as the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Echo Wall, and the Three Echo Stones. Recommended optional activity: Tonight you can go to Quanjude to taste the famous Beijing Roast Duck.

Beijing Hutong Day Tour: Yonghe Temple + Confucius Temple and Imperial College + Hutong
This morning, you will visit the Yonghe Temple. The 【Yonghe Temple】, also known as the "Yongkang Palace," was first built during the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty. It is a magnificent architectural complex combining palaces, Buddhist temples, and gardens. It was once the birthplace of Emperor Yongzheng and Emperor Qianlong, and is regarded as an auspicious "dragon's lair." It is also the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Beijing. Its Five Hundred Arhats Mountain, the sandalwood Buddha, and the nanmu Buddha niches are not to be missed. Afterwards, you will visit the literary-rich 【Confucius Temple and Imperial College Museum】, which consists of the Confucius Temple and the Imperial College. The Confucius Temple was first built in 1302 AD and was a place where people of the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties paid homage to the ancient sage Confucius. The Imperial College was first built in 1287 AD and was once the highest institution of learning in ancient China, as well as the only academy founded by an ancient Chinese emperor. Here you can learn about China's traditional education system. At lunchtime, you can also leisurely stroll through Beijing's most charming hutong neighborhoods, immersing yourself in the bustling everyday life of the locals. First, explore the artistic Wudaoying Hutong near the museum, wandering among its distinctive small shops and experiencing the local way of life. You can also roam the narrow alleys and chat with old Beijingers who grew up here—listening to their stories of how the hutong has changed over the years is a wonderful experience. You can also sample local specialties such as old Beijing yogurt and dumplings. Afterwards, climb the ancient Drum Tower and look out over the endless gray rooftops and the city's central axis. If the timing is right, you can also enjoy a thrilling drum performance. Next, you can take part in about 30 minutes of traditional Chinese handicraft experience, choosing from calligraphy, Peking opera mask painting, or paper-cutting, and create a unique souvenir with your own hands. Next, you can stroll along Yandai Xiejie, which has a history of more than 800 years and is one of Beijing's oldest and most popular hutongs. This short diagonal street was once lined with tobacco shops, and today you can still see all kinds of tobacco pipes made of porcelain, jade, and wood. In addition, Yandai Xiejie is adjacent to Shichahai and Nanluoguxiang. You can also take a rickshaw through the hutong alleys by the lake, passing Yinding Bridge, and see the picturesque Beijing scene painted by the blue waves, weeping willows, and old houses. Warm reminder: Today's itinerary is rich, and the hutong styles of the East and West Districts each have their own charm. If time is limited, you can choose according to your personal interests—either a deeper experience of the cultural classes and family visits in the East District hutongs, or a focus on the historic neighborhoods and Shichahai scenery of the West District hutongs.

Beijing South City Hutong Walking Tour: Qianmen Street + Caochang Hutong + Sanlihe Park + Yangmeizhu Xiejie + Beijing Fun
Today, you will stroll through Beijing's Outer City—the Southern City. Historically, this was a vibrant area where common people, merchants, literati, and famous Peking opera performers gathered. Unlike the orderly and solemn Inner City, it was full of lively marketplace atmosphere. Hutong walking route: Qianmen Street → Caochang Hutong → Sanlihe Park → Yangmeizhu Xiejie → Beijing Fun Your hutong walking tour will begin at Qianmen Street, an ancient commercial street located on Beijing's central axis. It was once part of the imperial road for the emperor's sacrifices to heaven, and today it brings together time-honored brands and fashionable shops, connecting Beijing's past and present. Then, turn into the quiet Caochang Hutong, one of the best-preserved hutong areas in Beijing. You can carefully look for the classic siheyuan elements: gray bricks, dark tiles, vermilion doors, and green lattice windows, quietly experiencing the authentic hutong residential atmosphere. Next, you will visit Sanlihe Park, a wetland park rebuilt along a historical river channel and known as Beijing's "little Jiangnan." Murmuring streams flow through the streets and alleys, while small bridges, koi fish, lotus flowers, and playful waterfowl create a scene like an ink-wash painting. You may wish to sit by the river for a while and fully enjoy the picturesque scenery of the water lanes running through the streets. Afterwards, step into the artistic Yangmeizhu Xiejie. This ancient diagonal street was once a publishing center lined with bookstores, and today it is filled with design shops, cafes, and studios, blending the old and new just right. As you stroll here, why not have a cup of coffee and hunt for a few lovely little items. Finally, arrive at the modern cultural landmark—Beijing Fun. From its open terrace or windows, you can overlook the gray-tiled hutongs of the Qianmen area and the towering Zhengyangmen Gate Tower, taking in the magnificent view where past and present intertwine. If you are still eager for more and have enough time, you can walk to the famous Liulichang Culture Street to appreciate antiques, calligraphy, and paintings, or head west to the Hufangqiao area to explore the remains of old guild halls, making the cultural meaning of this Southern City stroll even more lasting.
